Fabulously flexible In order to cope with all kinds of terrain, the D-MAX delivers considerable ground clearance. Plenty of configurations are available, allowing you to choose a version that matches your crew/load priorities. For instance, Single Cab Chassis models are two-seaters that feature the largest load bed, while Crew Cab Chassis iterations maximise occupancy. And somewhere in between is the Space Cab Chassis. Depending on which trim you choose, there are a number of available colours to suit your preferences or business colours. Basalt Black, Obsidian Grey, Mercury Silver, Mineral White and Cobalt Blue are just some of the choices on offer.

Colour co-ordinated Whichever body colour you decide upon, it’ll look great when contrasted with black door handles and door mirrors (SX trims). Alternatively, it’ll be perfectly complemented by colour-coded fixtures (LS-M grades and higher) – so your vehicle will look sleek and eye-catching in all environments.

Wheels of steel or alloy allies? SX trims are fitted with 17-inch steel wheels as standard, which are encased in all-terrain tyres. The same tyres are fitted onto 17-inch alloys, which are available if you upgrade to the LS-M grade. Move up one trim more, to the LS-U, and the vehicle rides on 18-inch two-toned alloys.

Light touch SX trims feature halogen headlights, while LS-M grades are upgraded with auto-levelling Bi-LED variants that offer greater flexibility and deliver enhanced luminosity. The same model is also fitted with LED front fog lamps, which make it a lot easier to see through swirling mist or heavy rainfall.

Choose your cabin type Five different cab types are available with entry-level SX trim, giving you optimum flexibility depending on your needs. LS-M grades can be selected in a Crew Cab UTE style only, while LS-U trims are available as Space Cab UTE or Crew Cab UTE types. Last but certainly not least, the top-of-the-range X-Terrain comes in Crew Cab UTE form. It’s this version that is most popular with style conscious families because it offers the most complete package in terms of a cabin space, comfort and equipment levels.

Get comfortable All models provide the driver with a rake-and-reach-adjustable steering wheel, making it easier to establish a comfortable posture. LS-M trims introduce power-assisted steering, and LS-U grades feature a leather-clad steering wheel, while treating the driver to a power-operated, lumbar-supporting position.

Interior design SX and LS-M grades are ideal if you typically carry out work that means getting dirty very quickly. Fitted with easy-clean vinyl flooring, they’re a practical, durable option. LS-U trims introduce high-grade cloth seats while X-Terrain grades have carpet flooring for a more family friendly feel.

Cool and collected All models feature manual air-conditioning and an integrated heater that also doubles as a demister. If dual-zone climate control is a must, the trims/cabin types you need to look at are LS-U (Crew Cab and Space Cab) and the X-Terrain.

Performance Although all trim levels are available with four-wheel drive, not every model is automatically installed with it, so you can choose whether your D-MAX is styled to take you off the beaten track. Select a model with 4x4 Terrain Command for complete control over any terrain and a class-leading wading depth of 800mm – perfect for working off-road or taking on the bush during a family adventure. And when you’re heading back to town, simply switch back to 2WD for supreme on-road agility.

Uncomplicated power The Isuzu D-MAX is powered by 3.0-litre turbo-powered diesel engine, which produces a peak torque of 450Nm at 1,600 to 2,600 rpm for strong acceleration. A six-speed manual gearbox is specified as standard with most models, and with a 3.5 tonne towing capacity, you can bring a caravan, boat or horsebox along with you.

Strong and safe This UTE comes with ANCAP’s maximum five-star rating, and irrespective of which trim level/cab type configuration you go for, the vehicle is loaded with safety features. For example, a reversing camera is fitted to every model to make reverse parking easier and Forward Collision Warning helps prevent accidents.

Infotainment A four-speaker stereo is installed as standard, featuring DAB radio, which delivers a wide range of stations in crystal-clear sound quality. Meanwhile, LS-M (Space Cab UTE) and LS-U (Space Cab UTE) variants feature a six-speaker audio system. All models come with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, too, allowing you to mirror your smartphone via the vehicle’s own display screen.
